I'm giving him until Monday to show his face (one full week). If he doesn't log back on before then, we pack our bags and move to a new forum. I suggest Proboards.

After a time I will support this without reservation, call it benefit of a doubt. Also I am not looking forward to everything moving and reposting current discussions.
Unfortunately it will be inevitable I believe. This does not make me happy.

I'm not looking forward to it either. It'll be a bitch and a half to move everything.

Yeah, that's not going to be fun.
Not to bitch about it but I thought /vr/ actually took this seriously. Could have at least passed admin rights onto the other mods.

Maybe he did, but something IRL got him by the ass. But then, who knows. Hopefully, he'll show by Monday.

hopefully so. To be honest, copyying everything over might not be as hard as we think. we could probably pilfer the html code from each of these pages and make a mockup of some description (im no programming or web genious)

im personally gonna give him a bit more time, like until i return from a family reunion in a week or so. if hes not back by then, then i guess we can drop a link and see if he turns up eventually. he definitely seemed serious, but who knows.

I thought /sp/ was the admin. So is this board kill then? I could start a new board. But we have to actually be more organised than this, and moderately more dedicated. ( suggested bi weekly meetings as a minimum) Everytime I`ve made suggestions that are actually necessary, I`ve been dismissed. I mostly just fucked off this idea because the people concerned can`t seem to be fucked to take the necessary steps to achieve the desired goals.

I`d be happy to take and administrative position in this shit, I`ve spearheaded unorganized groups on more than one occasion (both in real life and online.) But it`ll only work if I`m given adequate support. I already knew this endeavor was doomed based on the attitudes presented towards my ideas.

But I`m not going to take any initiative unless I see some sort of positive support. Not going to waste my already squandered free time on a bunch of unappreciative fucks.

I wouldn't really care who would take on the new role of "leader" so long as they showed at least a little desire to keep the community active and would be willing to communicate with their moderators/users. Honestly it would make the most sense for the leader to represent /b/ considering it's the heart of 4chan. And also sites like these are extremely easy to set up and maintain, the worst part would be moving all users over to a new site and finding new representatives for boards that no longer/never had one.

It's been a while since /vr/ showed face. When do you guys think we should move, or if we should at this point?

I'd say over the course of the next few days, we slowly move to a new forum. I'm not the greatest when it comes to making forums. Would someone from here be willing to create a forum?

Pardon me while I throw this barrel of gasoline on this struck match.  afro  Ah that's better.

We need some heads or at least a few who are going to be there to Admin this thing and keep it running. This is like pulling a bad tooth, best to get it over with fast. The question is what site and who is going to choose to Admin it? Many of us have work, family, or questionable hobbies that occupy our time. What I am trying to say is this will be a sacrifice that whoever takes these positions will need to consider. I am past the point of nominating or volunteering others for anything that I would not want to do.

Let me keep it simple and to the point someone needs to step the fuck up, we need to move on this and get the site up and running.

Holy shit that picture! Made me laugh pretty damn good. I can handle a lot of the minor details fairly easily. Pretty swift on a computer. And I can be as active as possible, but if I sense a loss in morale in this community, I will surely falter.

But before we even bother moving on anywhere, we have to get ourselves organized. Otherwise the same thing is going to happen. Not doing so would be like deciding to migrate without taking supplies.

Edit
We need to take into consideration time zones, work schedules, lifestyles, etc. Make decisions based on these facts. Understand the fact that 4chan is a worldwide used site, and we can`t rely on the few people that appear in a limited time only thread. It should be something covered on a wider basis than that. Realize that simply pleading to moot once a month isn`t really going to do shit. It`ll just get us dismissed. Which is why I suggested a minimum of biweekly threads. Personally, I think we should be making threads once a week to recruit people, bring in fresh ideas, and make it apparent that we`re serious about our objectives. Daily is overall unreasonable, and we definitely couldn`t spam moot like that and expect results. He`d just filter us out.

Really, we shouldn`t even be limiting it to one thread. It should be something like once every Monday, or every other Monday, we keep a thread open for 24 hours in order to bring in as much traffic as possible. The attempt made here has been pretentious, and paltry. Thinking a single person can represent an entire board is fucking insane.

I'll try my best to donate whatever free time I come across to this. Work is really cutting into the little free time I have.

I'll try my best to donate whatever free time I come across to this. Work is really cutting into the little free time I have.

Know how you feel, I just broke a couple of fingers and it really steals time away from you
If you don't mind me asking; how did you break your fingers?

pardon the inquiry, but do we even need an admin for reasons other than technical board management? we're doong most things by collecive decision, and i dont quite see the need for someone to be in charge.

i may be misinterpreting, but if the above assumptions are valid, i vote whoever has a bunch of free time and or knows their way around website management the admin.

i might be entirely wrong, because i am very tired and have been playing cards with the family for the past 3-4 hours, but as of now thats my 2 cents.

I'll bite the bullet, I could possibly admin since I have a lot of free time and setting up another forum here shouldn't be to hard, I could see what I can do. If everyone could say /aye/ that would like me to start new board and admin. Ill be normally on around 10am NZST onwards , if that helps.

>There is no loss of morale here
>Refer to timezones thread for different lifestyles
>Some of us have lives, however the active users are referred to (by me) on the board recruitment thread
>Largest timezone is between UK and New Zealand (myself and /g/) and we manage to get on at the same time just fine
>Second Monday of every month, as agreed
>Fresh ideas popping up all the time in the "general discussions" thread, although I agree we need someone to organise it
>We need a daily thread on /b/ to recruit board representatives
>Come on, people, let's make that happen
>I am /soc/ and cannot go for a week without showing someone my tits

Managed to slam a door hard enough to break them. Hurts like hell.
Aye to /g/ creating a new forum, I'm fine with him being admin.

Aye to /g/ as well, sorry to hear about the fingers /soc/.

The reason I was suggesting an Admin is to regulate the group, remove members as needed, grant others status, et cetera. As far as I can tell we have a damn good group of people thus far, excluding myself of course. With the arrival of new members it may be necessary to moderate them. Old adage of bad apple and the bunch.

Good adage, never really gets old, or loses prevalence.

I was just going to fade into the shadows, and lurk. As I said before, I`d be more than willing to take on an administrative role, even though I don`t have an exuberant amount of free time. (Getting this started is the only real time consuming effort, once it`s set up and running, it just takes a short daily visit.) But since /g/ appears to have a unanimous vote, I`ll just throw out my last attempt at giving your guys a sense of direction before going into lurking.

1. Get your shit together.
Take into consideration of time zones, work schedules, commute times (yeah, that actually makes a difference,) frequency of being online, and the average amount of time spent online. Don`t do this shit in a thread, it`s ridiculous to think that that`s a reasonable way to track information. In fact, just put that information in your profile. While doable, it`s an immense pain in the ass to archive such information. Hell, throw in a "status" into your profile as well. Myself as an example, I`d place myself as a status of lurking. But if we`re going to make a new forum, don`t bother at this point.

2. Get organized.
Consider and discuss what roles, and purposes people can hold given their already determined availability.
Seriously think about the number of meetings taking place. Monthly might be convenient, but it won`t get the attention that`s really necessary to accomplish desired results.
Consider the possibility of future (same board) reps, perhaps appointing them in shifts. (Currently we`re too small to even bother with such a thing) Perhaps consider and discuss sub-reps. People who assist the actual rep, can act as the rep given underlying circumstances, and would take place of the current rep if the current one can no longer be active.
Discuss keeping the thread on the designated day(s) up and running as close to 24 hours as possible. For example: Given my current work schedule, I could start the thread at 12 AM on the designated day(s), bring in conversation, place in current topics, and track new / popular points. Just have to find people to perpetuate the meeting as much as possible. (We need traffic. The more noteworthy we are, the more attention we grab. This includes mods and Moot.)
In the designated forum (HQ from hereon,) have specific stickied LOCKED threads. (Anyone who might be confused, that means people can`t post on it.) On the main, or "general" board, whatever you may call it. Have a sticky that talks about the purpose of this gathering of anons. A mission statement, if you will. Tell newcomers how best to participate, the process, and any rules (For instance, topics up for proposal should be kept to single topic threads.) Also include board rep openings, and possibly a list of the current board reps, and which board they represent.
Discuss and determine a maximum number of issues to be brought forth to 4chan staff (Moot, basically) at any given time. I suggest 3-5 proposals at a time. 3 Being conservative, and 5 being on the border of pushing your luck.

3. Promotion
Promote the HQ, and promote the thread when it`s up. Consider appointing people to go across the boards promoting the movement. (Perhaps this should be the duty of a board rep?)
Keep in mind, our power is in numbers. Look at what it took to get /mlp/ created. The bronies were literally an unstoppable force, and thus a board had to be created to contain them. You`re representing a board, you are NOT the board. A keen bit of information that must be kept in mind.

4. Diplomacy, and democracy
Sounds silly, but this is something that if exercised, can run miles. Run threads on designated day(s), and keep it alive as much as possible to bring in as much traffic as possible. Promote the thread / HQ. The ultimate goal should be to acquire a snowball effect, which inevitably removes burden from those spearheading the effort. This idea will spread like wildfire, and in the event we even manage to get ONE idea approved, it will explode.
On the specified meeting points, bring forth topics, take in new ideas, and discuss. The respective rep/member that`s in the thread is tasked with bringing back any new ideas, and/or reporting on notably popular ideas. At the end of the day, these ideas can be compiled. (Could be in a locked board for cleanliness, or just trust people won`t flood the thread. Moderation could be required in the latter.)
Discuss the proposed ideas in an open forum where anons can state their likes, dislikes, or concerns. Any possible prerequisites to a given demand.
Once a number of ideas have been brought forth, and properly discussed, have a short term poll in a closed board. (As in password / white listed / mods only board) Where the reps and/or any discerning members can take place in. Make a yes/no poll for each proposal, and vote accordingly (For example: if the limit is set to 3 proposals, and there are 6 widely accepted proposals, the designated voters would vote "yes" to 3 polls and "no" to the other 3.) This could easily be tracked for inconsistencies based on the knowledge of how many potential voters there are. You could keep it down to a minimal "Vote for x out of y" poll, but there aren`t enough voters for that to be effective.
At the start of the next meeting, the initiator would be tasked with creating a poll for each of the designated proposals, link this back into the locked thread for others to have links to, and perpetuate the thread of the entirety of the day. At the end of the day (12am Tuesday ideally) The active rep/member would screen shot the poll/shut it down (not sure if there`s a poll where having multiple people in control is an option.) THAT would be what we provide moot with.

5. Get over ourselves.
Having a maximum of 26 people making decisions for the entirety of 4chan is laughable. Which would be dismissed almost immediately. But bring in support of the horde, and get support en mass, and we have a viable argument. Everything I`ve already stated builds up to this particular point. This is how we`ll succeed, and there`s really no other way. Our strength is in numbers, not in words. He`s not going to listen to a small group of pretentious, self righteous pricks. But he will inevitably fall victim to a mass of discontent / desires.
There needs to be a certain level of grandeur to this, otherwise it`ll come off as being shallow. Mass support is the key.

With ALL of that being said. I`ll leave you kind folk to do as you please. Take or leave what I`ve said. Don`t respond to me directly, because I won`t waste my time replying. I`m reverting back to being a lurker, and will continue to monitor you as a whole. I`ll be interested to see how you fair. Just be sure to link the new forum (if there is one) here. Because I`ll surely miss the next pitiful once/month/day thread.

Is everything kill?

Sorry, I've been busy the last few days with other things (like masturbating.)

So admin hasn't shown his face since the first day? That's kind of sad to hear. If you guys are pulling up a new site, throw that shit up there. It doesn't need to be anything more than a free forums or something.
